Just a way to get traffic and befool the users. These auctions can never be relied.

Dot me guys are not cringing, not that they ever were. Over 3 million dot.me sites are now listed in Google and Alexa reports 260 high-traffic sites in the top million. Note that they are only 250 dot.asia sites in that list after 3 years.

As people have a very short attention span, the dot me guys discovered their traffic spike was only a spike, so they did the only thing they could do, to try to get the traffic back - change the rules and spam all the addresses they collected.

After seeing what Affilias et al are doing now with auctions I'm glad I didn't learn about dot ME until mid-July. At first I said "damn I missed a great opportunity" to pick up good names. But now I'm happy with getting my domains on July 17. Most of them are listed at http://www.dotmewebsites.com Now I'm waiting for the dust to settle after the next set of auctions in September for the premium names. I sure won't be bidding.
