Honestly, I also missed the old versions of Wordpress. I'm even thinking of writing my own super simple blogging script including essential features only. Or is that just hoping too much.... Not checked the bug myself as I dont get the volume of traffic yet that generates that amount of spam comments on my WP 2.6 site.
