Before I’ve had such a decision to remove it from all my websites ’cause it just drive me crazy sometimes and nothing else! Well, I removed it from my personal blog but still it is on some of my websites which will be removed shortly.

I hate the lack of transparency Google  provides for Adsense publishers. They charge advertisers whatever amount they bid and pay publishers who knows-percentage of the amount which sometimes is less than a cent/click which makes no sense.

From what I’ve experienced, optimizing ad spot and increasing CTR, reduces eCPM and CPC (Cost per click) which results in more valid clicks but same or even less amount earned for the ad publisher. Isn’t it funny ? They just earn more money while paying the same old amount to publishers.

Here is what I’ve tried several times and got the same result:

Put just one Adsense  ad on a mid-traffic website of mine in a not-very-good spot, getting 400-500 visits a day and ~6-10 clicks as an average, resulting in $0.60-$1 a day as average which is $0.10 a click. Added one more Ad spot in better position, getting 15-20 clicks a day resulting in $0.60-$1 a day ! Isn’t it funny or what ?

It has been years I have Adsense on a lot of my websites but in the recent 2 years they introduced a new term called “smartprice” which is pretty much same as I described above and is nothing more than cheating publishers without letting them know anything about what’s going on behind the scene.

I’m so glad that I don’t rely on them for a living and it’s just an experience for me, but for those who do, it’s a sad story.

5 O’clock in the evening and I received an email from Snapnames:

Registration attempts for back-ordered domain names were unsuccessful

Logged in to my account and checked my back-ordered domain list and the domain was still there with out-dated data.

14 minutes later got an email from NameJet with the following subject line:

NameJet Notice – Auction Start

Still haven’t received Pool’s failure email and it is still showing the old data but I will probably receive it soon.

I’m so glad I didn’t rely on Snapnames and Pool.com like most people do and I’m hoping to win the current auction at the end ’cause I’ve been watching this domain for months.

I’ll disclose the name once it’s done

Finally I’ve created the Ongoing Projects page!

The page, which should have been created months ago, if not years ago!

Even looking at that page and seeing how long is the list, freaks me out, not to mention the work involved in each of them and not to mention the domains I haven’t added.

I think I have the worst trio in my mind !  In love with programming, Addicted to registering domain names and skilled in Search Engine Optimization which all together cause non-stop sparks in my head even in the fields totally unrelated to mine.

May be if I had one more element added to them everything would be resolved ! Eager to earn money! It could prevent me from a lot of things I do and keep me in track but unfortunately or maybe fortunately I don’t have it

Earning money online is more like a hobby for me and I enjoy earning it while I can’t recall the last time I withdrew from my Paypal account because I usually spend 2 or 3 times more than that on my other online projects.

In the other hand, I’m so confident that one or more of these projects will take me somewhere else, in whole another level of life anytime soon.

I wish I could post such a title on a forum and buy some time as 24 hours a day and 7 days a week doesn’t seem enough for me.

After some successful experiences, I had with some of my domain names and websites, again I’m passing the borders and adding hopeful ideas and domain names to my inventory.

While I’m still busy with my 2-3 years old websites, adding new ones is a some sort of craziness and waste of money but I just don’t want to regret not having them and again, there is an idea behind each one of them which is interesting enough not to get avoided.

Everyday I’m getting renewal reminders for my close to expiring domain names which I haven’t got any time to spend on them, even for putting an “under construction” page on them.

I was thinking of hiring some freelancers but that doesn’t work either because I need some time to manage the project and honestly I can’t trust anyone enough to leave the whole project fully unattended.

Anyway I have to recap all my projects, update my project list and their progress here to be able to set the priorities and follow them based on that, otherwise they will never be completed while I keep adding to them .

I also have to remember to keep this blog in my priority list

Please keep in touch, I desperately need some ideas and feedbacks

For sure it’s not something I want to do at least sometime soon but I see people searching it so I thought why not give them a walk-through guide on using “nofollow” on the links.

As most people know, Links or Hyperlinks are no longer only the way to transfer PEOPLE (VISITORS) from a webpage to another, but it has been used also to show a trust factor from your site or page to another (usually external) site/page in the eyes of search engine crawlers.

In the other word, linking from your site to another, shows a relation and kind of truest between yours and the other site and in some cases adds a value to the destination. BUT beside their constructive usages, links can also have negative effect on your site if you link to an inappropriate, totally non-related, not-acceptable, illegal or spammy website. The same negative effect will happen if you place so many external links on a page with not enough content and the page loses its rank and trust and might even be considered as a linkfarm and get penalized to the end of search results.

The concept of nofollow first was introduced when spammers turned their attention and SEO strategies on well ranked weblogs by leaving spammy comments containing their links with hopes to gain better ranks in search engines, while they actually could destroy all the hard work the blog owner have done to make a trusted highly ranked weblog because of the negative effect we’ve mentioned before.

To deal with this problem there was a new value/attribute added to traditional “<a href ” way of linking.

In this method links containing ‘rel=”nofollow”‘ would not carry any (or at least much) weight and not being considered as a relation between the site and the destination in the eyes of most search engines while it still does the same thing for your visitors.

so:

<a href=”http://www.Articlesale.com”>Article Sale</a>

can carry some weight while the following link doesn’t or even if it does it’s minimum ;

<a rel=”nofollow” href=”http://www.Articlesale.com”>Article Sale</a>

How to make it automated in WordPress blogs to put nofollow on the links ?

Regarding the links within the comments, it’s already built-in in the new versions of WordPress to put nofollow on them BUT if your concern is about the commenter link, it should be taken care of by the template you use.

Most of the template use nofollow on the commenter link but some of them don’t! like the one I am using on Scriptbloggers

To add nofollow, you need to have some knowledge about WordPress templates since not all of them are the same but USUALLY the code you need to change is in comments.php:

Somewhere in that file you’ll find something similar to:

…

<a href=”<?php comment_author_url() ?>”><?php comment_author() ?> <?php comment_author_url() ?></a>

…

Well, all you need to do is to add rel=”nofollow” between “<a” and “href” . (DON’T COPY PASTE FROM HERE, IT MIGHT NOT WORK SO TYPE IT BY YOUR OWN PLEASE.)

I just don’t know what is going on but definitely something is wrong with big boys.

Here are some examples:

• Yahoo mail, which I’ve been with for years, probably 10 years (since the beginning of their service) has been too slow and worst than that recently there were sensitive emails I never received and simply dropped! Which I’m sure they’ve been sent because they were from Paypal!
• Overture keyword suggestion tool is down. Yes I know it was not maintained anymore by Yahoo but there isn’t absolutely any official news about taking it down.
• Yahoo Mail keeps giving me a small tracking popup from doubleclick which is owned by Google !
• Google webmaster tool is down and here is a screenshot. clicking on the link showed in the image also didn’t help and I get the same screen.

Before, (I think a year ago) I had a similar post somewhere. The funny thing is that all the weird things happen at the same time

The fact is that using a free service you’re not allowed to complain because that’s free :-s

Till yesterday the number of rss subscribers of LiveProxies shown by feedburner was about 20-24 and today I was just shocked when I saw the following image on my site:

I don’t think It is correct as I don’t see a major improvement in site’s traffic but just wanted to share to see if anyone else has ever faced same kind of issue with feedburner ?

Logged in to my Feedburner account and it seems that 452 out of 463 subscribers are using Rojo which I don’t have any idea about.

Anyway let’s see how it goes!

Today there were some weird Pagerank stumble signs for some domains specially on the following Google datacenters:

72.14.205.*
72.14.207.*

The reported Pagerank change didn’t last long for me and they returned to the same previous number as they were within hours but still there are people experiencing same situation for some websites.

While still there is no confirmed news of toolbar pagerank update, chances are pretty high that toolbar Pagerank update occurs these days based on the timings taken from previous occurrences.

Since the actual Pagerank updates regularly and kind of on daily basis, this toolbar pagerank update will not affect the actual search engine ranking and it is just the time people can actually see the Pagerank Google assigned to their pages through the toolbar.

For people who care about PR, it is a really important time because it actually shows if the efforts they made were successful or not.

I’m also interested to see what will happen to my sites specially some of my site’s inner pages.

I will update the blog once I get a confirmed news.

And here is the rest of story…

After passing 4 days of my last email mentioned in the two posts before, and getting no reply I decided to write again asking the status of my email and why they just avoid replying my specific question and a day after I got an email stating “Cancellation of transfer of my domain” !!!

And in that email they simply said the buyer didn’t cooperate and this cancellation is necessary.

That was easy, wasn’t it?

You may not believe how terrible they are when it comes to customer support ! I just don’t get the meaning of GUARANTEED SALE they mentioned in their Faq and I don’t know who is responsible for the 45 days they just wasted my time ?

People may think this was not their fault but I believe it is theirs as they don’t allow direct contact of parties that’s why they have that ridiculous commission on sale. Besides, I don’t care if my domain is not sold, I care about the time they killed by putting me into a kind of “contract and obligation”.

So I want to know what would happen if I (as the seller) sell the domain to someone else while this transfer was in progress ?

If you have ever tried to offer on a domain on Sedo you definitely have noticed that they won’t allow you, till you have a valid credit card on the file so what happened this time ?

It’s funny that one time I received an email they wanted to send to buyer by mistake and here was all they asked:

“…..the transfer will be cancelled and your Sedo account will be put under review.”

WOW that was scary LOL.

Anyway I’m still fighting to get at least a reasonable reply but the overal experience is:

Sedo works only for smooth and easy transactions and all they do is to wait till buyer pays, take their ridiculous commission and pass the rest to seller.

Following up is not even listed in their “to do list” and they just seek for easy money if failed they don’t care how long they have wasted your time, they simply cancel the deal !

Nice headacheless way of making money, isn’t it?
